About Me!

I’m Jenn! Some people call me JJ, and one person calls me Jenny. The redhead in my header picture is me! I’m 28, which means I can now say that I’m in my “late twenties.” I’m a McBride Scholar- an undergrad above the age of 24. The program is pretty amazing, and I love being a member of a tiny group within the larger Bryn Mawr community.

My class color is green, and the McBride color is purple- I own a lot of things in those colors, which is unfortunate, because those are also the colors of Barney the dinosaur. Whoops.

This year is kind of a big deal. I’m graduating (fingers crossed) in May. Thinking about it gives me a pile of feelings, so if you see me around, just act like I’ll be here forever, okay? I’m an English major, and my main interests are queer theory, social justice activism, and children’s literature. Ask me about it. I like talking. I’m one of the McBride Advocacy Mistresses, so I’m a member of the McB Executive Board. We have pretty sweet girl gang fleece jackets with Athena on the back. I’m also a member of the Honor Board! The Honor Code is one of the reasons I was so excited about coming to Bryn Mawr, and I have spent this year helping other folks understand it more completely and utilize it more productively. And then, finally, I’m doing this blog thing, which will likely be a fun adventure in oversharing.

I live in West Philly with a pile of cats (Batman, Robin, Patrick Swayze, and Owen Wilson) and a person named Scout. I own a car but don’t have my license. Car’s name is Chester. I do a lot of Bikram yoga. I drink a lot of water.

These introductions always seem like they’re simultaneously too much and not enough, but I hope that was at least a little helpful.

You *will* be here forever. I refuse to acknowledge any other reality. <3
